fun fact i’m actually terrified of butterflies - or at least i use to be

once i realized that butterflies were a symbolism for my queerness it made sense why i once feared them

my earliest memory of living involves squashing a butterfly that landed on my face

and screaming

i left my relatives in 2018 during the butterfly migration and that’s when my metamorphosis began, as i cried in the uber ride from their house to the train station i felt the fluttering take place

i chose my happiness, my beauty, my freedom, over a family that would never love me truly. Becoming is the journey to ones self.

This image is the embodiment of the softness I have fought for.
